Interesting Facts about Walt Disney World

The entire Walt Disney World Resort covers about 25,000 acres (39 square miles), making it roughly the size of San Francisco. The property includes four theme parks, two water parks, over 25 resort hotels, and Disney Springs. The resort employs more than 77,000 people, making it one of the largest single-site employers in the United States.
Disney World's Magic Kingdom features an intricate network of underground tunnels called the "Utilidors," allowing cast members to move efficiently behind the scenes. Cinderella Castle, the park's iconic centerpiece, stands 189 feet tall and was designed to withstand Florida's hurricane-force winds. The castle's spires are removable for extreme weather conditions.
The resort is home to one of the largest wildlife conservation areas in Florida, with nearly one-third of the property designated as a permanent wildlife conservation area. Disney's Animal Kingdom alone houses more than 2,000 animals representing 300 species. The resort also operates one of the largest laundry facilities in the world, washing an estimated 285,000 pounds of laundry daily.
